Dear Meany Center Friends and Patrons:

Due to the unprecedented crisis facing our region, I regret to announce that Meany Center is cancelling all performances and events for the remainder of our 2019-20 Season. We made this difficult decision in accordance with recommendations from local, national and public health authorities to help slow the spread of COVID-19, and in compliance with the University of Washington’s suspension of non-essential operations through the spring quarter.

As disappointing as this news may be, we emphasize that the health and safety of Meany Center’s family — our staff, guest artists, volunteers and patrons — is our top priority. We are committed to do our part to keep our community safe.

If you have tickets to any of the cancelled performances, here are your options:

  • donate tickets as a tax-deductible gift to Meany Center
  • receive an account credit good through May 31, 2021
  • request a refund

Please indicate your ticket preferences on the TICKET OPTIONS FORM, or by emailing the ArtsUW Ticket Office at

Contacting the Ticket Office

The ArtsUW Ticket Office is not currently available for in-person transactions and phone times may vary. Our staff is processing a large volume of orders which results in a longer processing time — they will get back to you as soon as they can.

Now more than ever, you can make a world of difference

In the next seven weeks, we anticipate a loss of $414,965 in ticket revenue — $7,545 per day. The sudden and unexpected deficit of so much earned revenue has a very significant impact on Meany. Our theater is dark, but you can help turn the lights on as we continue working towards next season and beyond.

Here are ways you can help:

  • Donate you tickets to the cancelled performances back to Meany in lieu of a refund
  • Make a donation to our Meany Center Relief Fund
  • Purchase a print-at-home gift certificate to redeem for a future event

While the future feels uncertain, we remain optimistic that together we will get through this crisis. And when we do, Meany will be here to welcome you back. Even now we are putting the finishing touches on our 2020-21 Season and hope to share it with you soon.

On behalf of our staff and our artists, I want to thank you for your ongoing support. We look forward to seeing you at Meany in the months ahead.
