On Saturday, March 10th, Meany Center will be putting on the Ritz with you, our friends and supporters, at Center Stage, our annual gala benefit. This year, we’re all about the Art Deco era—and the roaring good times of the 1920s.
Held, literally, on the stage of Meany Hall, this event is a fundraiser to benefit our artistic and educational programming; a thank you to our friends, who receive an exclusive preview of the 2017-18 Season before it is announced to the general public; and an opportunity to tell the story of Meany Center, the community that supports us and the artists who inspire us.
Like any good gala, ours will have plenty of fine wine and great food; a short live auction; and, of course, the highly anticipated sneak peek at our next season. But since Performing Arts is in our name, it wouldn’t be a Meany Center gala without actual performances.
This year, you can look forward to a performance by the stellar string quartet Brooklyn Rider—a group that composes, collaborates, seeks out music from other genres and makes it their own—and also plays Beethoven with freshness and virtuosity.
This will be our fifth gala, and we’ll have a high bar to clear—each previous Center Stage has been more successful than the one before. For that, we have only you to thank!
Invitations will be going out in January. We hope you’ll join us at Center Stage in March, but even if you can’t, please know how much we appreciate your support of everything we do. You make a world of difference.
