The Emerson String Quartet’s performances combine “an extraordinary fusion of experience and authority with audacity and freshness” (The Boston Globe). Over four decades, The Emerson has accumulated an impressive list of achievements: more than 30 notable recordings, nine Grammys, three Gramophone Awards, the Avery Fisher Prize and Musical America’s “Ensemble of the Year.” These long-time friends of Meany return with a program of two sublime and deeply affecting masterpieces by Haydn and Beethoven.
The Emerson is one of the most impressive of American string quartets.
