We sat down with new Meany Center Board members and got the scoop on what they hope to accomplish at Meany in the next year and their favorite upcoming shows at Meany.
Retired UW Librarian Emeritus (and long-time Meany patron) Gary Menges believes there’s more to a college education than just academics. So he’s created an endowment in support of chamber music and dance at Meany to ensure they will be available to future generations.
The theme of this year’s Center Stage was Moulin Rouge — Can Can girls raised their skirts, guests raised their paddles and with your support, Meany Center raised beaucoup bucks — in fact, we broke a record! Mille mercis for all you made possible this year!
Free youth tickets for aren’t just for families! In addition to benefiting from half-price tickets for teachers, Seattle Music Teachers Association members are also taking advantage of Meany’s two free tickets for youth with every adult ticket sold for Piano and Chamber Music Events to bring their students to performances on our stage.
Since 1996, Seattle’s Ladies Musical Club has been helping public school students across the region attend free matinees at Meany Center by subsidizing the cost of transportation to get them here.
