Professor Hussein Elkhafaifi, Director of the Arabic and Islamic Studies Program in the UW's  Near Eastern Languages and Civilization Department, gives a pre-show lecture.

He will provide a short history of the Tunisian “Jasmin” Revolution and subsequent events leading up to the Arab Spring, including an emphasis on the role that artists, particularly women, have played in shaping revolutions in the Arab world.
