Considered one of the region’s premier performance facilities, Meany Hall for the Performing Arts is beloved by artists and audience members alike for its outstanding acoustics and intimate ambiance. Individual performance venues include the 1,206 seat proscenium Katharyn Alvord Gerlich Mainstage Theater, and the 238 seat Meany Studio Theatre.

From its earliest beginnings, Meany Hall has symbolized University of Washington’s dedication to community education, culture, and the arts. Currently, Meany’s stages host international performers through Meany Center for the Performing Arts’ Visiting Artist Series, as well as performers from the School of Drama, School of Music, Department of Dance, and the Department of Digital Arts & Experimental Media (DXARTS).

Meany Hall’s Katharyn Alvord Gerlich Mainstage Theater is also available for a limited number of rental opportunities to on-campus groups and community organizations.  Any rentals must meet the Meany Center mission and cannot occur during the UW academic year. The Studio Theatre is currently not available for rental events.
